And even aluminum canoes need protection from bird droppings, tree sap and dirt and may have wood seats and foam sponsons to protect from UV. This "Tyvek Supra" cover blocks them, but allows canoe to breathe out moisture -- this is a DuPont material now being used for car covers and in building roofs between plywood and the roofing material.
